The International Relations and Multicultural Affairs unit within the Lord Mayor’s Administration Office (Branch) is responsible for Brisbane’s Sister City Program, delivering the Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS) international initiatives and facilitates economic and business opportunities for Brisbane’s multicultural community.
Reporting to the Manager of International Relations and Multicultural Affairs, the primary focus of your role will be to grow and enhance Brisbane’s international programs and develop in-depth relationships with key multicultural communities. Furthermore, a critical aspect of this role will be to support the progression of the 2017APCS in Daejeon and work closely with Brisbane’s Korean chambers and communities.
Ideally the role will suit someone with strong relationship and business development skills or project management with an interest in working in the international space. Candidates with Korean language skills will be highly considered.
Specifically, this role will be responsible for developing strong partnerships with Daejeon, one of Brisbane’s sister cities. In addition you will manage a diverse range of projects from Sister City related activities, business missions, civic events and other initiatives.
As the successful applicant you will be required to:
- demonstrate your high level successful delivery of projects within an international context;
- demonstrate your strong sound understanding of international customs, cultural sensitivities, protocols and international business practices;
- showcase your project management, relationship development, organisational and prioritisation skills
- have a high level business Korean language communication skills
